Where your order is actually made

Straight up: there is no Custom Fox shop, studio, warehouse or counter in Melbourne. Every garment is printed at our facility in Sydney and couriered down to you. There is no local pickup and nobody to visit. We would rather say that plainly than dress it up, because the whole thing is designed to run online and it works better when you know exactly what you are dealing with. You upload your artwork, you approve a mock-up on screen, we print it and it arrives at your door with tracking on it.

No minimum order, so five shirts is a real order

There is no minimum, and the front print is included in the listed price. Order a single shirt if that is all you need; from 5 units the unit price starts dropping, up to 20% off at 20 or more. A five-a-side team, a committee of eight, a first merch run of a dozen pieces you are not sure will sell yet — none of that needs a special arrangement or a bulk commitment. Full colour costs the same as one colour

We print with DTF, or direct-to-film. In practical terms that means a six-colour illustration with a gradient in it costs exactly what a flat one-colour logo costs. There are no screen setup fees and no per-colour charges, because nothing is being screened. That changes what is worth designing. A club crest with real detail in it, a gig poster reworked onto a shirt, a photo-heavy design for an event — all of it prints at the same price as text. Club, team and league gear

Season kit is usually a mixed bag: a run of shirts for the seniors, a few in youth sizes, caps for the coaching staff, polos for the people on the gate. Because there is no minimum on any of it, you can order the exact spread you need instead of buying to a threshold and storing the leftovers in someone's garage. Sponsor logos sit alongside the club mark without adding to the price, which is worth knowing before you go back to the people funding the season. The cold half of the year

Melbourne buys warm layers harder than most of the country, and for good reason. From about April onwards, a shirt is a base layer rather than the whole outfit. Hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts tend to be the pieces that actually get worn all winter, whether that is training gear, a supporter run, or the merch item that sells out first at a show. Crews are cleaner for a chest print and layer better under a jacket; hoodies carry a big back print well and do more work outdoors. Uniforms, merch and market stalls

Plenty of Melbourne orders are not club orders at all. Hospitality staff shirts, a studio doing a small drop, market traders who want their name on something at the stall, a trade business putting a logo on the crew. How long it takes to reach Melbourne

Everything is made to order, so nothing is sitting pre-printed on a shelf. Production takes 2 to 5 business days. Standard shipping is a flat $10 Australia-wide and adds 3 to 7 business days in transit, so 5 to 12 business days all up. Express is $20 and adds 1 to 3 days, for 3 to 8 business days total. Both are tracked. Melbourne metro sits at the fast end of those transit ranges, and Express is often next business day once it leaves us. For anything with a date attached — a grand final, a launch, a market weekend — order 10 to 12 business days ahead and give yourself room.
